External links
Turn any project into a direct link to external websites, apps, or live demos.
Link to external destinations
Sometimes you want a project card to link directly to a live website, app store, or external resource instead of opening a detail page. The link field makes this easy.
How to use external links
Add a link: field to your project's frontmatter followed by the full URL you want to link to, for example https://example.com.
title: "My Live Website"
description: "Check out my latest web application"
When visitors click this project from your homepage, they go directly to the external URL instead of a project detail page.
Visual indicator
Projects with external links show a 🔗 icon so visitors know they'll be leaving your site.
Perfect use cases
Live applications:
- Web apps and SaaS products
- Online stores and e-commerce sites
- Interactive demos and prototypes
- Client websites
App store links:
- iOS and Android applications
- Browser extensions
- Desktop software downloads
- Games on Steam, itch.io, etc.
Social platforms:
- YouTube channels or videos
- Instagram profiles

Notes
- External links open in the same tab by default
- The project still appears in category/tag filter pages
- Works perfectly with static export
- You can still add images to show a thumbnail on your homepage
